1. Who we are
Dala Video is a product of LurnR, a sole proprietorship under French law (entrepreneur individuel), 14 Route d'Autun, 71540 Lucenay-l'Évêque, France, SIREN 885 206 581. LurnR is the controller for the limited personal data described below. Privacy questions and requests: [email protected].
2. The browser version (dalavideo.com)
- Your media and projects are stored in your browser's private storage on this device (the Origin Private File System). We cannot see or access them. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them, so make a backup now and then (Projects > Backup).
- Settings, such as your language and preferences, and any API keys you add yourself, are kept in your browser's local storage. This is strictly necessary for the app to work, so there is no cookie banner.
- Speech recognition and AI models are downloaded from models.dalavideo.com (Cloudflare R2, EU) and run on your device. Your audio is not sent anywhere.
- Visiting the site: to deliver the pages, our hosting provider Railway Corp. (United States) and our network provider Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the requested page. They may keep this in short-term logs for security and operation. Our own server does not keep logs of your visits.
3. Mac app waitlist and newsletter
If you join the waitlist on dalavideo.com/mac.html, your email address and language are stored in LurnR's own newsletter service (Publisher Powerhouse, at news.dalavideo.com). We use them to send you the launch email with your discount code and our newsletter with news, tips and offers about Dala Video and other LurnR products. The basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.
3a. Optional services with your own keys
Dala Video works fully without any key. If you choose to add your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Pexels or Pixabay, the app sends only what that feature needs, such as a transcript, a prompt or a search term, directly from your device to that service, under your own account. Your video files are not sent. If you set up cloud backup with your own storage (for example Cloudflare R2 or Amazon S3), your projects and media are copied to that storage, which you control. LurnR does not receive any of this data; the privacy policy of the service you chose applies.
4. The Mac app
The Mac app also runs entirely on your computer. To check for updates it contacts GitHub (GitHub, Inc., United States), which sees your IP address. The AI connection for apps such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex runs on your Mac; when you connect an online AI app, data flows between your Mac and that app, under your control.
5. Legal basis and retention
We process technical visit data only to deliver and secure the website, on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not store any personal data about you ourselves. Logs kept by our providers are deleted according to their own short retention periods. Transfers to the United States rely on the safeguards in these providers' data processing terms, such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Write to [email protected]; we reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority in your own EU country.
7. Children
Dala Video is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly process personal data of children.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
